Sodalite Copper Wire Wrapped Pendant Necklace

A handcrafted statement pendant made in the UK a ,genuine sodalite stone, held in oxidised copper with a woven bail, simple woven banding, and a wavy wire that cradles the stone in place. Overall pendant size 25x50mm.

Deep royal blue with white veining runs through this beautiful sodalite stone, the rich, calming colour that makes sodalite so instantly recognisable and enduringly popular. The genuine stone, measuring 25x50mm overall, is held in place by a gently wavy copper wire that follows the stone’s form, with simple woven banding adding texture and structure. The bail is woven with fine copper wire. The whole piece is treated with liver of sulphur for a rich, dark earthy finish, the deep copper tones providing a bold, warm contrast to the cool blue of the sodalite.

This is a one-of-a-kind piece, not made to order. As a natural stone, every sodalite has its own unique blue and white patterning. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Design Notes

The sodalite stone is held in place by a gently wavy copper wire shaped to follow the stone’s form, with simple woven banding adding structure and texture around the stone. The bail is woven with fine copper wire. The copper is treated with liver of sulphur to force natural oxidisation. Copper will naturally darken further over time and can be buffed with a wire brush to restore its warmth. As each piece is made around a unique stone, no two pendants are ever the same.
