Jewellery Care

Materials Used

All our jewellery is handcrafted by Tammy Betson using the following materials:

Silver Plated - copper plated with silver, which is nickel and lead free with a non-tarnish coating.

Copper - 100% copper, usually oxidised.

Sterling Silver - 925 sterling silver, meaning there is a small percentage of other metals present.

Fine Silver - 99.99% pure silver, with just 0.01% of other metals present.

Please note: Sterling and fine silver necklace, bracelet and larger pendant orders are hallmarked. Earrings and smaller pendants under 7.78 grams are not hallmarked unless specifically requested (an extra charge applies). A certificate of authentication is supplied with all silver pieces.

Care Instructions

To keep your jewellery in tip-top condition, please follow these simple guidelines:

  • Keep your jewellery away from chemicals, liquids, strong perfumes, body creams and water, no showering, swimming in the sea or pool whilst wearing it!
  • Remove your jewellery before exercising to avoid contact with sweat.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
  • Store in a dark, dry, airtight container when not in use, preferably separate from other jewellery.
  • Clean gently with a soft cloth.
  • We recommend Town Talk Silver Sparkle and a silver polishing cloth for a thorough clean if your silver has started to oxidise.

How to Clean Your Jewellery

Watch our helpful video guide on how to clean your Spirales jewellery:

Over Time

If not stored correctly, silver plate and fine silver will gradually take on a golden tinge, sterling silver will darken, and oxidised copper will also deepen in colour over time. This is a natural process and part of the character of handcrafted metalwork.

Resin Pieces

Our resin pendants require a little extra care:

  • Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can cause yellowing over time.
  • Keep away from extreme heat, do not leave in a hot car or near a heat source.
  • Clean gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth, avoid harsh chemicals or abrasives.
  • Store separately from other jewellery to avoid scratching the surface.
  • Avoid contact with perfumes and body creams.
