Rainbow Moonstone Copper Wire Wrapped Pendant Necklace

A handcrafted statement pendant made in the UK, a genuine rainbow moonstone with white body and black speckling, wire-encased in oxidised copper with woven bail wrapping, a swish of copper balls, and a spiral detail. Overall pendant size 35x60mm.

Luminous white with dark black speckling, this rainbow moonstone has a striking, almost celestial quality, the contrast between the pale stone and its dark inclusions giving it a depth and character that catches the eye. The stone is encased in raw copper wire treated with liver of sulphur for a rich, dark earthy finish. The bail is woven with fine copper wire, with a decorative swish of copper balls sweeping around it and a spiral detail finishing the design, the additional detail complementing the bold character of the stone beautifully.

This is a one-of-a-kind piece, not made to order. As a natural stone, every rainbow moonstone has its own unique patterning and character. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Design Notes

The rainbow moonstone is encased in raw copper wire shaped to follow the stone’s form. The bail is woven with fine copper wire, with a decorative swish of copper balls sweeping around it and a spiral detail completing the design. The copper is treated with liver of sulphur to force natural oxidisation. Copper will naturally darken further over time and can be buffed with a wire brush to restore its warmth. As each piece is made around a unique stone, no two pendants are ever the same.
