Picture Jasper Round Cabochon Copper Wire Wrapped Pendant

A handcrafted statement pendant made in the UK, a genuine 25mm round picture jasper cabochon, held in oxidised copper wirework with a woven bail, overall pendant size 50x32mm.

Warm golden and earthy tones with the characteristic landscape patterning of picture jasper run through this beautiful stone, the natural bands and markings that give picture jasper its name, each one a unique snapshot of ancient earth. The smooth round cabochon form gives this pendant a classic, balanced silhouette, the wirework framing the stone with organic, flowing lines. The bail is woven with fine copper wire, with additional wirework securing the stone and adding texture and detail. The whole piece is treated with liver of sulphur for a rich, dark earthy finish, the deep copper tones providing a warm, harmonious contrast to the natural tones of the jasper.

This is a one-of-a-kind piece, not made to order. As a natural stone, every picture jasper has its own unique patterning and colour. Once it's gone, it's gone.

Design Notes

The 25mm round picture jasper cabochon is held in place by hand-shaped copper wirework, with a woven bail adding texture and detail. The copper is treated with liver of sulphur to force natural oxidisation. Copper will naturally darken further over time and can be buffed with a wire brush to restore its warmth. As each piece is made around a unique stone, no two pendants are ever the same.
